Win Tickets to Cats In Manila - The Blogger Contest

>> Thursday, July 15, 2010

I bought my tickets to Cats in Manila early on in December 2009 to take advantage of the 10% discount being offered by Citibank to its credit card holders. As I didn't know whether an understudy would alternate the role of Grizabella with Lea Salonga, I wanted to increase my chances of watching the show with Lea Salonga playing the lead role.

So I chose to watch on the (original) last show date which was August 8. (That was before they extended the run to August 15. And great news, the show has been extended yet again to August 22.)

I wanted to watch the evening show, so that I'm so very sure that it will definitely be Lea playing the final, final show. But since me and my siblings are just going to take a cab to and from CCP, my sister wanted to watch the matinee show just to be safe from the evil elements of this world.

And off I trooped to Ticketworld in Trinoma to buy my tickets. August 8 seats are pretty sold out. I intended to buy 4 tickets worth P3,605 each for me and my siblings. With Citibank's 10% off promo, each ticket would only cost P3,245. After flipping back and forth through Ticketworld's reservation terminal hoping to find the best Upper Box seats available across different Sundays of the show run, I decided to stick with my initial plan and go for August 8.

"Ate, 4 tickets po sa Upper Box."

To my pleasant surprise, the lady at the counter said, "Ah, you're buying 4 tickets? You can avail of the Family Package promo. That will give you a better deal."

Oh wow! I didn't know about this promo and God bless this wonderful lady for telling me about it.

And what is this super great deal all about?
Got this from Facebook:
"Family Package on Matinee Shows - Buy 4 tickets at Price Zone Php5k, and get 40% discount!!!"

Since I'm buying 4 tickets, I can opt to buy tickets worth P5,105 each at 40% discount!!! Which would allow me to buy a P5,105 ticket at only P3,090!!!!
Amazing! It even comes out cheaper than if I had availed of the Citibank 10% off promo.

So what are you waiting for. Go get your tickets now!

The show run starts on July 24 all the way 'til August 22 at the Tanghalang Nicanor Abelardo, Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP)

Postscript:

Oh, and by the way, remember how I was concerned about which date to watch the show because I wanted to make sure that I catch Lea Salonga (and not an alternate) playing Grizabella?

Well, even greater news which came from Lea Salonga herself!

Lea Salonga said: "I'll be performing at all the performances, so it won't matter for which date you buy your tickets."
See her message for yourself, right here.
